i’m unfortunately not able to message you since your ask box is closed, so i’m going to do it this way

99% of your posts are REPOSTS, which means you saved other people’s gifs or edits and reposted them. that’s just fucking rude and disrespectful. there’s a button called “reblog button” on a post, so if you like a post, you can REBLOG it. if you don’t know where it is yet, let me help you, it’s on the right at the bottom of a post. if you continue reposting people’s work (gifs/edits), i’ll not hesitate to report you blog, because what you are doing is out of control

The first picture is from an article on the site Jezebel, and the second from a romance author’s comment. I don’t think people understand: this woman used Harry Styles to portray a horrifically bigoted, abusive asshole and is getting paid for it. She is rumored (confirmed?) to be getting a book/movie deal based off her THREE PART fanfic, where from what I gather, is an even worse 50 Shades of Grey-esque piece of shit. The fact that the book started as fanfic has nothing to do with it; the fact that she chose to write about an abusive relationship in a way that is trying to portray this sort of harrassment as OK is everything. If I were Harry Styles (or any member of One Direction or their Team) I would be FURIOUS that she is using her sick fantasies to gain a profit. Let me tell you something: the One Directipn fan base has a variety of fans that vary in different ages. Hell, my dad is a fan as well as my six year old cousin. And that’s what scares me the most. What 12 year old girl wouldn’t LOVE to see the movie based off her favorite band member? This author, this TWENTY FIVE YEAR OLD WOMAN, should have known better than to write something so horrid. With it kept on the Internet as an unpublished work of fanfic, it’s fine. Not ideal, but still it can be dealt with. But now that it may suddenly be in every bookstore, next to books by James Patterson and J.K. Rowling? (For example). I cannot fathom my repulse towards her lack of judgement. Cause let me tell you: this is not OK. Because no matter how much she tries to seperate her “literature” from where it originated, it will always be linked back to Harry Styles and One Direction. She will STILL be portraying abusive relationships and douche bag boys as something to dream about. I’m not even sure if this made sense, I am so FURIOUS and I have written this rant about four times now and I’m sure I’ve left something out I will want to go back in and add. But these are my thoughts, feel free to drop me an ask with your own opinions, sorry to disturb your scrolling.

ITS NOT A FUCKING ABUSIVE RELATIONSHIP HOLY FUCKING SHIT. not in one way out of the whole story did he ever put his hands on her. Sure maybe he fucked her up mentally but ITS A FUCKING BOOk its not portraying anything or whatever. Its a good book. And all y’all bitches are just jealous that its getting published and y’all damn ass famfics arent. Bye felicia. Bitch

wow you’re so ignorant i can’t believe this… “Sure maybe he fucked her up mentally” are you serious??

wwOOOOOWWWW let’s take several long moments to look at every flaw in your argument, @sslarrybullshit.
First of all, the completely ignorant, naive, and downright unintelligent comment: “ITS A FUCKING BOOk its not portraying anything or whatever”.  In saying this you are directly and unequivocally saying that books do not and are not capable of portraying “anything” - whether that be information, ideas, concepts, or, well, "anything."  In the case that you actually think this (and if you do then I am incredibly, vastly concerned for your current mental status) then I hope you’re prepared to abandon every piece of literature you’ve ever or will ever come across, because they can’t portray anything, right?  If you’re in school I’d apologise to your professors in advance.
Secondly, and this one is so mind-blowingly ignorant and insecure that I’m actually chuckling as I type this: “And all y’all bitches are just jealous that its getting published and y’all damn ass famfics arent”. Please.  Take your sub-conscious psychological coping mechanisms of degrading others’ efforts and prides (note that these particular efforts and prides successfully DON’T idealize emotionally and sexually abusive relationships and a blunt rejection and deprecation of feminism in any form) and maybe try acknowledging your own denseness and your inappropriate (not to mention immature) reaction to blame any [inevitable] problems people have with After on the people themselves.  Grow up.
Thirdly, if for one second you DON’T think that’s an abusive relationship, you are either a) ignorant to what an abusive relationship actually is (there are multiple types of abuse, including but definitely not limited to physical, mental, emotional, verbal, and sexual) or b) you have fallen victim to the idealization of abuse and you somehow think this is okay - which is exactly what this book does.  If that’s the case, I apologise for whatever you have experienced or been subjected to that’s made you think that way, and here's a link to an abuse education and help website/hotline. If you're simply ignorant, then please, educate yourself, and preferably before you say such horrid things on a public website again.
On a separate note, the effects of 50 Shades of Grey (which is strikingly similar to After) on its readers have been researched, and the results are frightening.  Here you’ll find reports conveying that readers of the book or similar material are much more likely to be in abusive relationships themselves, to demean and to objectify women and to renounce feminism (women are especially likely to do this), and to have life threatening eating disorders.
There is literally nothing good that can come from this.  Harry suffers from image and generally from the blowback of being portrayed as an abusive asshole, and any viewer of this film or reader of this book will be affected in the ways mentioned above.
